GOKUJYO TSUTSUMI is a 40% high-grade spirit from Tsutsumi Shuzo in Kumamoto, produced from rice, rice koji, and naturally fermented single-distilled base, then aged for years in Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled as a liqueur in Japan because the color resulting from long cask aging exceeds sake-shochu tax limits, while its profile remains deeply close to a single-malt-style aged spirit. It is a single-cask, limited-release product with strong concentration and a long, elegant finish.

Culinary affinity: Rich vanillin, caramel, and dried fruit aromas, with a rounded sweetness, support aged soy-glazed dishes, roasted poultry, shellfish with umami-rich sauces, grilled beef at relaxed settings, and quality chocolate or nut-based desserts.
