COMBIER Elixir is a French herbal liqueur from Distillerie Combier in Saumur, Loire Valley. Created in 1852 from a formula associated with François-Vincent Raspail, it combines more than 15 botanicals and spices, including cardamom, myrrh, cinnamon, saffron, and clove. The recipe was discontinued in 1980 and revived in 2011 from the distillery archives. Bottled at 38% ABV in a 700 ml format, it has a bright golden color with layered spice, citrus, herb, and warm pepper notes.
Culinary affinity: Its herbal, citrus, and warm-spice structure works with roasted poultry, pork, mushrooms, aged cheese, chocolate, and citrus-led desserts.
