Single Malt Japanese Whisky Togouchi is Sakurao/Brewery Distillery’s Japanese single malt, built on a 1970s-era former rail-tunnel maturation site in rural Hiroshima. The 43% ABV NAS expression (minimum 3 years) is known for smoothness beyond its age profile, with vanilla, green apple, and melon tones from the high-humidity, temperature-stable tunnel cellar. The house rebuilt in the 2017–2021 period and now positions Togouchi as fully JSLMA-compliant—distilled, matured, and bottled in Japan.

Culinary affinity: This style is especially effective in highball form, where the soft fruit esters stay bright. It works with omakase sushi and white-flesh fish, grilled oysters, and Thai-style desserts such as mango sticky rice, where vanilla-fruity notes can bridge smoke and sweetness without dominance.
