Long Pepper Crane
A rice-spirit base meets long pepper in an export-only liqueur. The spice creates a dry, aromatic line that recalls cinnamon and citrus without turning the product into a flavoured honkaku shochu—because it is, correctly, a liqueur.
Rice spirit after the distillation
Long Pepper Crane uses a rice-spirit base and long pepper, also known as hihatsu. The additional botanical and dietary fibre make its category liqueur, not honkaku shochu. Keeping that distinction visible is part of describing the product accurately.
Spice with restraint
Long pepper gives the spirit cinnamon-like warmth and a lifted citrus note. The base spirit is produced by Toyonaga Distillery in Yunomae.
SHOCHU REPUBLIC — an export-only animal series
SHOCHU REPUBLIC is an export-only series introduced in 2024. Each animal-marked release is made by a different Japanese producer and should be read through its own stated ingredients and category, rather than treated as a single shared specification.
