Barley meets barley koji—without rice koji or sesame—in a deliberately direct 25% expression. Barley Bunny is designed as an accessible entry into the category while keeping the materials of a honkaku mugi shochu plainly in view.
A simple material line
Barley Bunny is made from barley and barley koji. It does not use rice koji or the sesame that identifies Beniotome’s better-known sesame shochu. That difference is central to the product, not a footnote.
A new expression from a distinct producer
Made by Beniotome Shuzo, founded in 1978 in Kurume, the bottle offers a lighter entry into shochu without borrowing the specifications or awards of the producer’s other releases. Its own stated identity remains a 25% barley-shochu expression for export.
SHOCHU REPUBLIC — an export-only animal series
SHOCHU REPUBLIC is an export-only series introduced in 2024. Each animal-marked release is made by a different Japanese producer and should be read through its own stated ingredients and category, rather than treated as a single shared specification.
