KOKUTO DE LEQUIO Kokuto Liqueur is a Japanese brown-sugar liqueur from SG Group and 1848-founded Shinhou Shuzo in Naha, Okinawa, co-developed with OneSpirit under the leadership of Shogo Gokan. Launched as the first release of the KOKUTO DE LEQUIO series in 2023, it uses a sakura-yeast Ryukyu awamori base with a touch of brown sugar rum, blended with two Okinawan black sugars from Iriomote and Yonaguni. At 20% ABV and 500 ml, it keeps a dry, layered profile with molasses depth and a surprisingly restrained sweetness, making it a practical modulator for premium cocktail work.

Culinary affinity: Its dry balance makes it suitable as a modifier in Old Fashioned, Negroni, and Espresso Martini styles, where it can replace heavier sweeteners without flattening bitterness. It also works well with roasted nuts, caramelized tropical fruit desserts, and nuanced fish or light shellfish dishes when used with restraint.
