ICHIRO’S MALT & GRAIN CHICHIBU BLENDED WHISKY CLASSICAL EDITION is a world blended whisky from Venture Whisky and Chichibu Distillery in Saitama. Released on 23 October 2021, it combines malt and grain whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Canada, and Japan, then undergoes further maturation and blending in Chichibu. Bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring, it has a malt-forward profile with fruit, soft smoke, oak, spice, and a long, rounded finish.
Culinary affinity: Its malt structure, gentle smoke, fruit, spice, and oak complement grilled poultry, roast pork, mushrooms, aged cheese, yakitori, roasted nuts, and desserts with caramel, apple, vanilla, or pastry notes. In a highball, it also works with Japanese grilled dishes and Thai food featuring herbs, citrus, and moderate spice.
