About this wine

Bouzeron sits at the northern edge of the Côte Chalonnaise, the only village appellation in Burgundy required to plant Aligoté Doré, a finer-skinned, lower-yielding form of the variety than the more common Aligoté Vert.

Château de Garnerot's Les Louères is fermented with native yeasts and aged in oak. The estate's tasting notes describe the cuvée through floral aromatics, tropical and citrus fruit, and a long, mineral-driven finish.

Made from 100% Aligoté Doré, the grape variety Bouzeron AOC is built around.Ferments with native, wild yeasts directly in oak.Ages in oak for approximately 10 to 12 months before bottling.Bottled unfined and unfiltered, following the estate's standard practice.Château de Garnerot released its first vintage in 2018.

Appearance

The estate's tasting notes describe a bright, golden robe.

Aroma

For this cuvée, the estate describes acacia and white flowers opening onto mango and other exotic fruit, citrus, honey and a light hazelnut note, with a touch of iodine.

03

The cuvée is described with rich minerality, pleasant roundness and a long finish.

Before it reaches the glass

01

Temperature

Serve well chilled, cool enough to keep the floral and mineral notes lifted.

02

Timing

The wine shows aging potential, though no specific drinking window has been established for this release.

03

Glassware

A medium-bowled white Burgundy glass, which concentrates the floral and citrus aromatics.

At the table

Les Louères' iodine, minerality and gentle roundness create natural bridges across several culinary traditions.

The wine's saline edge and floral-citrus register make it a flexible partner at the table, particularly with dishes that share a similar lightness and marine or herbal character.

Japanese

  • White fish sashimi (sea bream or flounder)
  • Sake-steamed clams
  • Lightly salted tempura

Why it worksThe wine's iodine and mineral character echoes the marine notes of raw and lightly cooked seafood, while its roundness softens the salt in tempura.

Thai

  • Steamed sea bass with lime (mild)
  • Pomelo and shrimp salad (mild)
  • Grilled seafood

Why it worksCitrus and mild chili notes in these dishes align with the wine's own citrus lift, while its minerality supports the seafood's natural sweetness.

Western

  • Escargot in the Burgundian style
  • Jambon persillé (parsleyed ham)
  • Fresh goat cheese

Why it worksThese are classic partners for Bouzeron's Aligoté-based whites, where the wine's minerality and gentle roundness suit the traditional gastronomy of the region.
