SABUROMARU III THE EMPRESS is a Japanese single malt whisky from Wakatsuru Saburomaru in Toyama. Distilled in 2020 and presented in a 700ml bottle at 48% ABV, it is the first in the Saburomaru single malt line to use Islay peat, giving it a distinctive maritime, mineral edge while retaining clean grain-led structure from the still’s characteristically rich distillate. Officially sold out in Japan, it is positioned as a limited and collectible modern Japanese single malt.

Culinary affinity: Its smoky-islay profile and mineral finish pair well with grilled seafood, lightly charred fish, roast poultry, mushroom-forward dishes, and mildly sweet desserts such as caramel or nut-based sweets. The whisky also works as a highball base when a lighter, more aromatic profile is preferred.

ความเข้ากันของอาหาร: กลิ่นควันและความเป็นแร่ของอีลีย์จับคู่ได้ดีกับอาหารย่าง โดยเฉพาะกุ้งหอยเปลือกแข็ง ปลาไฟแดงปลาย่าง เนื้อไก่ย่างเบา ๆ และสลัดผักที่มีรสเปรี้ยวอ่อน ๆ หรือถั่ว/ไข่มุกน้ำตาลช่วยตัดความคมได้ดี อีกทั้งยังเหมาะกับไฮบอลแบบคมชัด
