ICHIRO’S MALT WINE WOOD RESERVE is a Japanese blended malt whisky from Venture Whisky and Chichibu Distillery in Saitama, Japan. It is built around the Wine Wood Reserve concept, combining malt whisky connected to the closed Hanyu Distillery legacy with Chichibu malt, then finishing and marrying the whisky with red-wine wood influence. The internal report positions the finish around Japanese wine casks from Katsunuma, including Muscat Bailey A and Merlot, while noting some lot-level and international-label variations. Bottled around 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural color, it shows red berries, blackberry jam, citrus peel, bitter chocolate, cinnamon, spice, nuts, light tannin, brown sugar, and oak.

Culinary affinity: Its red-berry, chocolate, spice, and wine-cask structure pair well with aged cheese, charcuterie, roasted duck, pork, grilled beef, mushroom dishes, nut desserts, dried fruit, and dark chocolate. It is also well suited to wine-list-adjacent service, dessert pairing, and whisky cocktails such as Old Fashioned or Manhattan-style serves.
