Gin Meridor

Here’s one of the COMBIER distillery’s surprising – and delightful – recent creations.

As you may have guessed, this success – which received its second AWARD SPIRIT GOLD OUTSTANDING 2025 at the IWSC 2025 with a score of 98 points – doesn’t come from nowhere.

The Art and Science of Gin Meridor distillation

At the heart of the Combier Distillery, the long swan neck alembics are the guardians of the well-kept secret of the recipe.

Developed by the Master Distiller after two years of research, this recipe uses eight different plants and spices, each bringing its own touch to the final bouquet. The distillation process, carefully orchestrated, ensures that each aromatic note is preserved, thus offering exceptional quality and remarkable purity.

A Gin with Rose and Elderberry Flowers

First London Dry Gin from the Loire Valley, Meridor Gin represents the apogee of French craftsmanship in the world of spirits. Born in the historic stills of the Distillery, in Saumur, where the famous Triple Sec “Original” has been distilled since 1834, this gin is the result of a meticulous distillation of all its components, carefully selected and merged into a single session. Perfectly adapted to this type of spirits, the distillery’s long swan neck stills allow a complete spectrum of perfumes to be extracted from carefully selected ingredients.

This process, combining tradition and expertise, makes each sip of Gin Meridor unforgettable.

Loved by specialists and awarded right from the start, Gin Meridor owes its name to the dame de Montsoreau, who became Diane de Meridor in Alexandre Dumas’ novel. It evokes the very essence of the Loire Valley thanks to its exceptional ingredients growing on the bank of the River.

The floral bouquet of the Gin Meridor

Meridor Gin is distinguished by its floral and spicy composition, in which hand-picked rose petals and elderflowers from the Loire Valley play the starring role. These local botanicals, combined with juniper berries, coriander seeds, lemon peel, iris root, cubeb and liquorice, create a rich and complex aromatic profile. The floral nose, followed by a peppery finish from coriander and cubeb, a pepper native to India, makes Meridor Gin an exceptional drinking experience, marked by incomparable freshness and complexity.

Entre élégance et caractère, Gin Meridor ne laisse pas indifférent.
