What is “Yuzu”
Yuzu is a citrus fruit originating from East Asia, known for its distinct, powerful fragrance. It’s small and round, with a skin that ranges from yellow to green. The juice is notably tart, making yuzu a popular ingredient for adding a unique tangy flavor and aroma to various dishes and drinks. Its rind is also utilized in culinary applications, often in flavoring dishes or as an ingredient in sweets. Yuzu holds a special place in Japanese cuisine, where it’s used in various forms like yuzu pepper and yuzu tea, adding a characteristic zesty note to many traditional dishes. This citrus fruit has gained international recognition for its unique taste and aroma, making it a favorite in both cooking and beverage preparation.
