TENSEIHOJUN Islay Cask Finish

“Tensei Hojun Islay Cask Finish” (42% ABV) marries black-koji sweet potato shochu with ex-Islay whisky barrels for roughly six months. The nose opens with maritime brine and peaty smoke, softened by vanilla and dark chocolate notes. On the palate, silky sweet potato sweetness and umami from black koji merge, accented by bitter peat and a hint of sea salt minerality. The long, layered finish is best enjoyed neat or over ice.
