It’s a great pleasure sharing with you the Top 11 from Sommelier Magazin by Sascha Speicher, and the very special place awarded to N.P.U. – « Nec Plus Ultra » 2009.
The new opus being described as :
« Various citrus fruits, lots of tangerine, very vinous, a little volatile, slightly salty and peaty; marine salinity, laurel, lots of black spices, ethereal, green tea tannin, lots of character, green pepper. Extremely rich facets, great depth, remains very stimulating despite its power. »
“The crème de la crème of what is currently available on the champagne market resembles a journey through the entire spectrum: young and aged Blanc de Blancs from 1996 as a Late Release to 2019, along with two Blanc de Noirs from two contrasting parcels in Aÿ and four classic blends, one of which is a Non Vintage from Jacquesson, simultaneously the “most affordable” among the very top champagnes. Represented in the selection of the Champagne Eleven of the year are both large and small houses, as well as winemakers, great icons like Cristal and new stars in the champagne sky like La Rogerie.”
