I – Domaine Patrick BAUDOIN
The reputation – and popularity – of Loire wines is increasing day by day. Until recently, 80% of Loire production was drunk by the French, who are very attached to the region, to the Loire, its emblematic river, component of their intimate identity, and to its delicate wines.
Times are changing, and the whole world is now discovering the quality of its white wines – Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc, Melon de Bourgogne, Folle Blanche – and of its red one – Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot d’Aunis, Pinot Noir, Gamay and Grolleau.
What makes us special is our presence in France and our personal network of winegrowers and French personalities from the wine community of this region blessed by the gods, which allows us to forge links with artisan producers whose wines are recognized, nationally and internationally, for their excellence. And to be regularly informed of new issues, new developments and new creations.
Recently, we have established a partnership with Patrick Baudoin, one of the respected figures of the Chenin de Loire, at the origin of their renewal with Nicolas Joly and some others – also a member of the “Académie du Vin de France” (1933) with, among others, Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of Domaine de La Romanée Conti, Anselme Selosse (Champagne), François Roland-Billecart (Champagne), Saskia de Rothschild (Château Lafite), Olivier Jullien (Terrasses du Larzac), Bernard de Nonancourt (Laurent-Perrier), Renaud de Laguiche (Jura), Alexandre de Lur Saluces (Yquem).

The Académie, founded by the aristocrat Baron Pierre Le Roy de Boiseaumarié and Raymond Baudoin, Patrick Baudoin’s father, has set itself the mission of:
- Educating people about the cultural dimension of wine
- Encouraging appropriate and intelligent consumption habits so that the great wines of the French Terroir are understood as the natural reflection of a human achievement
- Indicating a path to contribute to making the lover of good wines blossom in his choices.”
Jovial person who has an acute awareness of his environment, a deep respect for the health of the soils that bear his harvests and of those who will one day bring his wines to their lips, and a profound knowledge of vines and wine, Patrick Baudoin produces deep, exquisite Chenins on 13 hectares in Appellations AOC Anjou and AOC Savennières, which are now present on many Michelin-starred tables of this planet.
He is one of those representatives of those small, family-run houses that have been successfully defending their high-end niche for decades with authentic wines – not industrial wines that can be infinitely reproduced – and that are committed to producing “masterpieces” in the age-old tradition, and apply themselves patiently to the task.

In our desire to offer wines of this stature in Thailand, we keep this question in mind: how can we talk about wines to make the world of wine less exclusive? To make people want to taste them? How to tell a country, a wine, a vintage, to someone who doesn’t know them? This is the goal we humbly set ourselves.
Because we remain convinced that the first story a wine tells us is our own. And each of us has a unique history, a sensitivity, an imaginary, memories, that compose our interior landscapes: emotions, colors, smells, sounds, music. That is why wine belongs to everyone. We want to be messenger of those memories. We want to be the messengers of wines capable of making you relive them.

The Baudoin touch combined with this great terroir produces a great Loire wine.
And so, in the near future, we will have the privilege of offering you two of its main Cuvées, one red and one red:
– Cuvée La Fresnay 2018 Red, a beautifully fruity, complex organic Cabernet Franc. On the nose as in the mouth, a beautiful balance between intensity of the fruit (cassis, redcurrant) and mineral freshness. The palate is supple, gourmand and finely spicy on the finish.
– Cuvée Cornillard 2019 White, an organic Anjou Blanc made from Chenin grown on schist with a south-east exposure on slopes plunging down to the Layon River. A superb parcel producing magnificent grapes. Patrick Baudoin has been working the parcel with his horse since 2016.

We hope that these wines will awaken in you things known and also unknown. That they will open up new horizons for you.
