We have the pleasure of sharing an unusual news with you, and to embark on this so complex, so fascinating world that is Champagne, of the mysterious alchemy of its elaboration.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Bruno PAILLARD independent and family-owned Champagne Maison! 1985–2025!
Therefore, it is also the 40th anniversary of their Perpetual Reserve, a strong symbol of their identity.
Perpetual Reserve? What is that? Explanation.

40 years of Perpetual Reserve… to explore!
In 1985, while the Maison was still a very young one, Bruno Paillard made a bold and singular choice: to create a Perpetual Reserve, one of the oldest in Champagne – a blend destined to evolve, year after year, with the addition of the new vintage.
This approach was born from a deep conviction: Champagne is a living wine, shaped and transformed by the time. It is this capacity to evolve – the key to longevity – that the Maison strives to reveal in every one of our champagnes.
Initiated 40 years ago, in 1985, this Reserve tells the story of the House. It is the custodian of a memory, a sensory archive that transmits the taste of past vintages while ensuring the consistency of a style both energetic and profound.

UNDERSATNDING THE PERPETUEL RESERVE
Unlike a “classic” reserve, where wines are kept separately by vintage, the Perpetual Reserve is a continuous blend, kept in oak barrels and stainless steel.
Each year, the current harvest – always dominant – is blended with wines from previous years. Thus, vintage after vintage, older wines unite with the young, enriching the Reserve and enabling a slow evolution. The precedents bring structure, the most recent freshness. Like a succession of generations living under the same roof. At least, in this case, in the same bottle.
Over time, it becomes a deep, complex and harmonious base – composed today of 40 vintages.
THE SOUL OF PREMIERE CUVEE
In the Première Cuvée Extra-Brut, the Perpetual Reserve accounts for around 33% of the final blend — on average over the past ten years. This proportion may vary, as the Maison reserves the freedom to adapt to what nature gives each year.
With each blend begins a new ageing process: a minimum of 3 years on lees – the crucial phase of yeast autolysis – followed by at least 6 months of post-disgorgement rest.
The Perpetual Reserve brings:
• Continuity of style beyond the uniqueness of each vintage
• Aromatic depth with subtle signs of evolution
• Textural complexity — a vibrant freshness from our chalk Terroirs, paired with a
calm maturity.
It lies at the heart of the Maison’s commitment to champagnes of remarkable depth and longevity.

CUVEE 72 : DOUBLE MATURATION
If Première Cuvée Extra-Brut is the original expression of our Perpetual Reserve, Cuvée 72 is its second chapter, a deeper interpretation.
Cuvée 72 also undergoes 36 months of ageing on lees in the Maison’s cellars. After disgorgement – the pivotal moment when the wine leaves its lees and begins a new life – it matures a second time for another 36 months.
This choice reveals another dimension of time: that of Revelation, when the wine opens and flourishes, expressing new aromatic nuances.
A total of 6 years before the market launch.

The Perpetual Reserve offers memory to the wine – and it is time after disgorgement that reveals the richness of its evolution.
This is why Maison Bruno Paillard preserves bottles of Première Cuvée from past disgorgements – rare witnesses to its history and its ability to craft enduring wines.

Thus, in a single bottle of Première Cuvée or Cuvée 72, 40 vintages are assembled. This is unique in the world of Champagne.
An element that distinguishes, and honours, a Champagne Maison in the most beautiful way. A rare elegance that Bacchus Global greatly appreciates. And one that we are particularly pleased to be able to offer here in Thailand.
