La Digoine

DOMAINE A. & P. DE VILLAINE Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise La Digoine 2015
France, Bourgogne

“La Digoine” presents an aromatic profile that features vibrant notes of ripe wild plum, fresh cherry, and subtle graphite. On the palate, it is more robust than La Fortune, offering a harmonious blend of juicy fruit flavors. This is complemented by a distinct, yet refined structure of chalky tannins. To fully appreciate its depth and complexity, it is recommended to age it for a few years in the cellar, allowing it to fully develop and reach its peak.

Domaine de Villaine
is located in Bouzeron, nestled in the Côte Chalonnaise region between Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay to the north and Rully and Mercurey to the south.
Planted with vines by the monks of Cluny in the Middle Ages, this small, sunny valley has a rich and lengthy tradition of producing quality wines which reflect their exceptional terroir. In particular, they focus on winemaking in harmony with nature, with an emphasis on organic and sustainable farming methods. Aubert de Villaine, one of the co-owners of Domaine de Villaine, is also a co-owner of the prestigious Domaine Romanée Conti (DRC) in Burgundy, which brings additional prestige. (Mr.Bacchus)
